IsoTherming® Selected for RefiPampa Refinery in Argentina
OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA, March 15, 2022 – Refi Pampa SA (RefiPampa) has signed agreements with Elessent Clean Technologies (Elessent) for the license and basic engineering of a new IsoTherming® Diesel Hydrotreating and Dewaxing Unit. The grassroots hydrotreater will be installed at the RefiPampa facility in La Pampa, Argentina. In order to comply with the latest fuel specifications in Argentina to meet Grade 3 diesel specifications by 2024, RefiPampa commissioned Elessent for an IsoTherming® diesel hydrotreating and dewaxing unit with a target capacity of 62.6 m3/hr (9,450 BPSD).
Fuels of the Future
The global fuels market will see a dramatic shift over the next 10 years. Despite its steep reduction in demand in 2020 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, global liquid fuel consumption is expected to surpass pre-pandemic levels sometime in 2022. Stricter fuel specifications, a changing vehicle fleet, the growing role of alternative fuels and the potential for a tightening crude market will determine developments of the fuel market through to 2030 and beyond. Europe has been leading the way towards cleaner, lower-emission fuels. The proposed Euro 7 standards are set to feature even stricter rules on emission levels for all gasoline and diesel cars, vans, trucks and buses. Other industrialised regions of the world are likely to follow. The pandemic has also accelerated the trend to decarbonise, reduce emissions and incorporate renewable fuels.
International Private Equity Consortium Finalizes Purchase of Clean Technologies Business From Dupont
CHESTERFIELD, MO, USA, New Year’s Day marked the beginning for Elessent Clean Technologies as an international private equity consortium, consisting of BroadPeak Global LP (“BroadPeak”), Asia Green Fund (“AGF”) and The Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company (“Dussur”) (collectively, the “Group”), completed its transaction to purchase the Clean Technologies business of DuPont de Nemours, Inc. (“DuPont”) (NYSE: DD) on December 31, 2021.
